Unit 11. Development of personal fitness.

Introduction.

My name is Tayla Hammett, I am 15 years old, i do hip hop and street dance with a dance school called Dani Dee School Of Dance. My team is called Dynamite and we are currently the welsh street dance champions for under 18 newcomer. We became champions on November 14th 2010. I have danced since I was about 4 years old, but i haven't always done hip hop or street, when i first started dancing i was doing tap and ballet but i got bored of that and wanted to try something new, so by the age of 6 i started dancing in Dani Dee's, I have been dancing with her for 9 years. I train for dancing 3 times a week, and i teach year 5 and 6 in Hendrefoilen school in an after school curriculum on a Thursday. My current level of fitness is isn't as well as it would be in about 2 weeks, because we haven't trained for the 2 weeks throughout Christmas. I'm looking forward to going back to dancing because I'm getting rather bored and I'm ready to train because we have a show coming up in march. In competitions I don't just dance with my team, i have a partner who competes in the duo category with me. I have danced with her for about a year.




Goal setting.




My long term goal is to become champion in under 18 advanced, in the welsh street dance championships.


My two physical short term goals are to..


  1. to improve my c.v endurance so i can keep my energy flowing from the start of a dance until the end, that means i wont get fatigued neaar the end and my dancing will still be as good as what it would be when i start off.


   2. to be able to do a backflip, because i have always wanted to do one and
       you can use them in dances.


My one technical short term goal is to..

   3. to be able to do faster dances and to keep in time.

week 1.




monday : AM - Continuos Training ( BTEC lesson.)


  • I run laps around the rugby pitch in a matter of 20 minutes, i done 2 laps in this lesson.
PM - Dancing (Out of school.)


  • I dance from 8 till half 9 with my dance team every monday.


Tuesday : AM - PNF stretching.


  • half hour stretching before school, with help off my mum to push me a bit more.


PM - dancing ( Out of school.)


  • i dance from 7 till 8 every tuesday.


Wednesday : AM - REST TIME.




PM  - Dancing (Out of school.)


  • I teach age 6 - 12 from 5-7, and then dance in my own class from 7-9 every wednesday.
Thursday : AM - Flexibility ( BTEC lesson.)


  • in this lesson, i got out a mat and done strecthing
Friday : AM - REST TIME.
PM - Flexibility.


  • i done an hour of stretching at home, and my mother helped me again.
Saturday : AM - Continuous Training.
